Programmable Device Circuits and Systems, Vol 4, No 3 (2012), Pagination: 155-159Abstract
This paper presents design of ring oscillator based voltage controlled oscillator for wide frequency range applications requiring on-chip oscillators to generate clocks at low power. The structure and operating principle of ring oscillator have been described and the expression for the frequency of oscillation of a CMOS delay cell based conventional ring oscillator is presented. The VCO is designed and simulated in 45nm CMOS technology with BSIM 4.3.0 MOSFET model, level 54 parameters using SPICE simulator. At constant supply voltage (VDD) of 1V, as input control voltage varies from 0.3V to 1V in a step of 0.2V the output frequency changes from 0.54GHz to 4.5GHz, thus providing a maximum tuning range of 88%. The total power dissipation is of the order of 60 μW, with center drain current of 60.0 μA for current mirror formed with MOSFETs M3 & M4. The Phase Noise obtained for the proposed design is 0.116mV/Hz1/2 at 1MHz.Keywords

The present study deals with the effects of heat and mass transfer on MHD free convective flow of an incompressible and electrically-conducting fluid along an infinite vertical moving plate embedded in the porous medium by taking into account the effect of viscous dissipation. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plane of the plate. The dimensionless governing equations are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. The numerical calculations are performed to illustrate the influence of parameters used in the problem on the velocity, temperature and concentration. The graphical representations of the numerical results reveal that increased cooling of the plate and the Eckert number leads to a rise in the velocity profile. Also, an increase in Prandtl number leads to decrease in the temperature.Keywords

An unsteady flow of dusty viscoelastic (Walter's liquid model-B) fluid past an impulsively started vertical plate through porous medium with heat source/sink in the presence of chemical reaction and thermo diffusion (Soret effect) is investigated. The constitutive equations, which are partial differential equations, are converted into ordinary differential equations and then the expressions for velocity, temperature and concentration profile are obtained. The numerical calculations are performed to point up the influence of pertinent flow parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration profile. Some important characteristics of flow field such as non-dimensional skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also studied.Keywords

The present study analyses the effects of Hall current and heat absorption on a viscous, incompressible, optically thick and electrically conducting viscoelastic fluid flow past an infinite vertical porous plate through porous medium in rotating system with variable suction, thermal radiation and chemical reaction in the presence of uniform magnetic field. The perturbation technique is employed to solve the governing nonlinear partial differential equations to obtain the expressions for velocity, temperature and concentration profile. With the help of graphs and tables, the effects of pertinent flow parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration fields, shear stress, Nusselt number and Sherwood number within the boundary layer are discussed. The results reveal that the observed parameters in rotating system have a noteworthy influence on the ow, heat and mass transfer.Keywords
